Butterflies and Irises

Butterflies and Irises sculpture commission honors Ingrid Peterson. This is a life size figure of her dressed in garden dress and hat collecting irises as she walks through a field of irises. On her basket and the tip of her finger are butterflies. Ingrid Peterson was an avid philanthropist for the public parks, who loved irises and raised butterflies. She bequeathed nearly one million dollars for the beautification of Lafreniere Park and her legacy and generosity lives on with this life size bronze sculpture.
